Purpose: Organize and coordinate tours for the interest of the membership
Responsibilities
- Plan a day trip at least every other month (weather permitting)
- Have trips approved by leadership team, if necessary
- Confirm details of the trip, make reservations and deposits, and pay facility tour cost per agreement
- Publicize event through Web Site, newsletter and database. Give detailed information: Date, time, cost, RSVP deadline, address to respond/send monies if needed
- Refunds are only given if cancelled by the deadline or facility does not require you to pay for reservations not used
- Collect money from those attending
- Send newsletter editor and Web manager a summary of tour with a picture if possible
- Submit to corresponding secretary any necessary correspondence (thank you, etc.). Include name, address and reason for correspondence
- Report on the most recent tour at the next leadership team meeting
- Record a summary of tour in the tour notebook
- Collect information on possible tours and file in tour notebook
- Tours are generally for NNL members and guests and not children. However, occasionally tours are planned which are suitable for children to attend. Be sure to indicate this in details of tours.
- Make sure all prices include tips, taxes, room charges, etc.
- It is important to remember that the deadline for getting the notice for the Day Trip in the Newsletter is the 7th day of the month ‘prior’ to the month in which the Newsletter is issued.
